I am not suprised by this news. It is unfortunate that all of these people will be looking for new work but I feel like the automakers are to blame. The eve of more efficient cars has been coming over the last five years or so. The Auto makers that are still seeing success are the ones that started planning and implementing more efficient systems in at least some of their cars. Do you think Toyota is feeling as much pain as GM. Toyota has been profiting from the Prius and other hybrids while GM has been producing huge trucks with horrible gas milage. You do the math.
